Charger Cameron Lambert breaks 31-year-old school record
Middlesex High School (MHS) distance ace Cameron Lambert broke a 31-year-old Middlesex High School record in the 3,200 meters last week, running a 9:59.41 at a state qualifying meet at Charles City High School.

Lambert broke Damon Chowning’s record of 9:59.6 set in 1994 at the state meet at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
MHS Coach Joel Anderson said Lambert ran a 5:07 first mile, which meant he had to run under 4:53 in the second mile to break the record. Lambert also beat the state indoor 3,200 meter champion. Lancaster High School’s Matthew Kane doubled events at the meet by running the 800 meters (1:57.83) before the 3,200 meters.
