The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system cordially invites the public to Patron Appreciation Night at MCPL’s Urbanna branch at 150 Grace Ave. on Saturday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening features refreshments, a raffle and live music.
Patron Appreciation Night is a celebration of both the library and its patrons as it looks at its accomplishments of the past few years, as well as plans for the future. “As part of National Library Week, we wanted to show our appreciation to everyone who comes in our doors,” said MCPL Executive Director Carrie Dos Santos. “To all who check out books, attend storytimes, workshops, and lectures; use our computers and wifi; read our newspapers and magazines; conduct research using our databases; or simply need photocopies and faxing — we want to say, ‘Thank you.’ You are the reason this organization exists.”
Deltaville Branch Manager Tom Samuel, echoed Dos Santos’ sentiments. “The library is lucky to have a great deal of community support,” Samuel said. “This is a measure of our gratitude for sharing the understanding for the need for a community library.”
MCPL thanks those local businesses who have donated items and services for its raffle, including Cici’s Pet Grooming, River Birch Nursery, Something Different, Urbanna Trading Post and Wooden Pickle Cafe.
Tickets for the raffle are $1 each or six for $5. Tickets will be sold during the event and the drawing will be held at the end of the event. Ticket holders need not be present to win.
