The Christchurch School (CCS) sailing team hosted its first fleet regatta of the season on Saturday at the school’s sailing pavilion and waterfront. The Seahorses first team took second place with 91 points and the school’s second team took third place with 105 points.

Hampton Roads Academy finished first. The “A” Division sailed in the school’s fleet of new 420s, and the B Division sailed in the Jack Dozier ‘65 FJ Fleet. Both fleets were on the water at the same time, with alternating starts. Winds were initially in the high single “dits,” clocking westerly and climbing to sporty sustained winds in the high teens. Gusts throughout the day, reaching up to 20 mph, challenged the sailors. Temperatures reached nearly 70 degrees.

Other schools competing included Hampton Roads, Norfolk Academy, Norfolk Collegiate, York High School, Maury High School, Kecoughtan High School, Poquoson High School, Heritage High School, and The Hague School.
