David Kenneth Jones, 65, of St. Stephens Church, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Jones and Myrtis Brooks Jones.
David is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Roxie Miracle Jones; his children, Angela Jones (Donald), Elizabeth Schwartzkopf (David), Brandi Parkhurst (Darrin), and Sean Jones; his stepchildren, Candi Horton-Trey, Margaret Miracle (Frank), Renee Ancarrow (Paul), Dennis Miracle (Michelle), and Quinton Miracle (Tracey); his stepmother, Roberta Jones; and his sisters, Patricia Kirby, Nancy Hazzard-Carroll, and Shirley Jean Brown; and his cousin Michael Schools who was like a brother to him. He was a proud grandfather to Blake, Tyler, Lilli, Gabbi, Tonie, Davin, Delanie, and Ayden, and a cherished step-grandfather to Christian, Alexis, William, Jade, Kenzie, Megan, Brandon, Savannah, Katie, Noah, and Jacob.
David was a lifelong resident of Virginia. He honorably retired from both the U.S. Marine Corps and his career as an over-the-road trucker. Throughout his career and his cross-country adventures with his wife Roxie, he was proudly able to visit all 50 states.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21 from noon to 2 p.m. at Mattaponi Baptist Church, located at 13468 The Trail, King and Queen Courthouse. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church chapel, officiated by Pastor Stephen Rountree. Interment with military honors will take place afterward in the Mattaponi Baptist Church Cemetery.
