MHS finishes 16th at state indoor track meet

Middlesex High School (MHS) senior Cameron Lambert was the only Charger track runner participating in the Class 1A Indoor Track Meet at Liberty University in Lynchburg on Wednesday and Thursday, March 5 and 6.

Lambert was named to the all-state team in two events as he finished fifth in the 1,600 meters (4:38.65) and sixth in the 500 meters (1:11.75).

Lancaster High School won the state indoor team championship scoring 82 points. Mathews finished sixth with 42.5 points and Middlesex finished 16th with Lambert’s 7 points.

Lambert has excelled as a Charger middle and distance runner and will attend Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington in the fall.
