Bobs Hole Road set to close for road work on March 10

Starting Monday, March 10, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Bobs Hole Road (Route 625) in Middlesex County to replace two large drainage pipes.

bobs-holeBobs Hole Road over Mill Creek will close between General Puller Highway (Route 33) and Regent Road (Route 624) in the Topping area for approximately two weeks.

Crews will remove two culverts underneath the road and install two new pipes with concrete headwalls. The new pipes are approximately 40 feet long, with a diameter of five feet, which are the same size as the existing ones.

Drivers will be detoured to the following routes, which is about six miles:

  • Regent Road (Route 624).
  • Dirt Bridge Road (Route 622).
  • Greys Point Road (Route 3).
  • General Puller Highway (Route 33).

Message boards will be posted to alert drivers to the road closure.

Access to all residential entrances will be maintained on both approaches to the road closure.

Weather permitting, Bobs Hole Road is anticipated to reopen by Monday, March 24.
