Christchurch girls and boys basketball seasons conclude

The Christchurch School (CCS) basketball program wrapped up the winter season with a grand finale in CCS’s Yarbrough Gymnasium on Friday, Feb. 21.

The Seahorse girls defeated Veritas School 26-23. Lex Foster of Gloucester led the team with 15 points and four steals. Jaclyn Callis of North contributed nine points and seven blocks, reported CCS Communications Assistant Jennifer Homer.

The Seahorse boys defeated Veritas School for the second time, 66-61. The Seahorses also defeated Veritas in January, 57-43.

For the season, Christchurch posted wins over Veritas, Fork Union Military Academy, Southwest Virginia Academy, Summit Christian and Hampton Roads Academy, said Homer.

Both teams play in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II.
