MHS girls basketball team defeats Charles City, 31-17

Middlesex High School’s varsity Lady Charger basketball team (4-11, 3-6) easily handled visiting Charles City on Feb. 18. Middlesex built a 16-8 lead at the half and cruised to a 31-17 victory over the Panther girls.

Lady Charger Rylee Buck scored 18 points, and Brooklyn Horace added 9 points, hitting three of four free throws. Alyssa Hooks contributed 4 points in the win.

The Middlesex girls finished fifth in the Tidewater District, according to MaxPreps.com. West Point’s Pointer girls (14-5, 12-0) are Tidewater champions.
