
The Middlesex High School (MHS) wrestling team had three grapplers qualify for the Class A State Tournament in Salem (near Roanoke) on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, out of the Region A/B tournament conducted last week at Mathews High School.
Those advancing are Joseph Brandon, who finished third in the 132-pound weight class; Andrew Harrow, fourth place, 157-pound weight division; and Zach Deagle, fourth place, 190-pound class. The top four in each weight class qualify for state.
The Chargers also have two alternates going to state. Conner Graulich finished in fifth place in the 106-pound weight class and Joseph Rowe, fifth, 144-pound weight division. Alternates attend the state meet and may wrestle in the event of an opening in their weight class.
