Improved Internet service coming to central, upper Middlesex County

Broadband Internet service is coming soon to unserved areas including central and upper Middlesex County.

Residents or businesses in the service areas are encouraged to sign up now, said Kevin Gentry, executive director of the Middlesex Broadband Authority. For a limited time, the only cost for installation will be $199.

“This means for the first year, there is no additional installation costs regardless of how far from the road the business or resident is located,” explained Gentry. “You could live a quarter mile from the road and the additional fiber cable it takes to reach your house is free.”

After the first year, All Points Broadband will still make connections in the service areas, but property owners located farther than 1,000 feet from the road may incur additional costs.

Potential subscribers are encouraged to sign up now at allpointsbroadband.com/middlesex, where they can input their physical address to see if they are in the service areas, and then choose a plan. “I just walked through it with a subscriber, and it was pretty painless,” said Gentry.

2-phase installation process

  1. A contractor will come and connect the fiber to the outside of their home or business.
  2. An All Points Broadband employee will set up an appointment to install the indoor equipment.
