‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’ — play opens soon in White Stone

Grace Emminizer-Davis, a former Deltaville resident, rehearses for the role of Jacqueline in The Lancaster Players production of “Don’t Dress for Dinner,” by playwright Marc Camoletti. While Jacqueline’s husband, Bernard, devises a series of cover stories to hide his affair, Jacqueline has her hands full fabricating her own as she tries to make sense of Bernard’s. “Don’t Dress for Dinner” is a comedy of confusion with hilarious hijinks. When a not-so-happily married couple mistakenly schedules a visit of their secret paramours for the same dinner party weekend, impromptu cover-ups lead to complications and mistaken identities. Bill Casey and former Deltaville resident Grace Emminizer-Davis portray the couple in The Lancaster Players upcoming production of “Don’t Dress for Dinner,” directed by Rebecca Tebbs Nunn.

The farce continues the story of Bernard and Robert, two characters from playwright Marc Camoletti’s earlier play, Boeing-Boeing, with Casey as Bernard and Silas Emminizer as Robert. Cameron Hope, Amanda Schimmoller and Aaron Stevens round out the cast.

“Don’t Dress for Dinner” opens at The Lancaster Players Playhouse on Friday, March 7, with additional evening performances on March 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22. Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m. March 9, 16 and 23. The Playhouse, located at 361 Chesapeake Drive in White Stone, opens one-hour prior to curtain for a social hour with cash bar.

Tickets are $30 and are available through The Lancaster Players or by calling 804-435-3776. Groups of 15 receive a 10% discount when tickets are purchased together.
