The Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation is now accepting applications for queen contestants for the 2025 Urbanna Oyster Festival. The queen and Little Miss Spat competition involves a commitment to perform at least 25 hours of community service, as well as other activities. The queen competition is open to rising high school seniors who are residents of Middlesex County. The application deadline will be March 15.
What was once a beauty pageant is now a scholarship-based competition. The queen contestants must be rising high school seniors and residents of Middlesex County. Each queen contestant mentors a rising first grade co-contestant as her Little Miss Spat.
The queen and Little Miss Spat competition starts early in the spring, continues through the summer and extends until the crowning takes place at the Urbanna Oyster Festival, which will be Nov. 7 and 8. The queen and runners-up receive college scholarships.
