Ware Academy’s junior varsity girls basketball team recently defeated Chesapeake Academy in the Wave girls first game of the season. The team fought through a close game, winning 12-8.
The squad (right, using their fingers to make W’s for Ware) includes, front, from left, Lydia Hurst, Charlotte Hogg, Lucca Miltenberger, Sadie Stevens; middle, same order, Faith Scott, Kaylee Wingfield, Layla Vance, Ella Taylor, Sarah Williams, Lilly Johnston, Charlee Bellinger; and back, same order, coaches Jarius Monroe and Michael Bellinger. Lilly Johnston lives in Middlesex County.
