Chesapeake Bank recently announced its success over the past year in community outreach and philanthropic efforts. The bank’s staff has been instrumental in supporting various initiatives aimed at fostering financial literacy, education and overall community well-being across the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck, Williamsburg, Richmond, Chesterfield and Peninsula regions. While Chesapeake Bank does not have a branch in Middlesex County, it does have nearby branches in Mathews, Hayes, Gloucester, Kilmarnock, Irvington and Lively.
“We are able to report over $515,000 in corporate donations, over 4,600 volunteer hours from our staff, and 174 organizations served by those volunteers in 2024,” said Thomas Claiborne, vice president community outreach officer. “We believe our purpose as a community bank is to build strong communities – because without our community, there is no Chesapeake Bank. We look forward to carrying this momentum into 2025 which is the 125th anniversary of the bank.”
While putting a dedicated focus on contributing to local organizations through donations and volunteer hours, Chesapeake Bank also partners with numerous schools, nonprofit organizations, and other services to provide financial education and coaching to individuals and families in need.
