Audition today in White Stone for ‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’ comedy

Lancaster Players President Luke Rawls has announced auditions for “Don’t Dress for Dinner,” a comedy to be directed by Rebecca Tebbs Nunn. Playwright Mark Camoletti’s French farce, adapted by Robin Hawdon, is a fast-paced comedy, filled with surprises and unexpected plot twists.

The casting call is for three women and three men. Auditions are set for 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 16,  at The Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.

Performances are slated for three weekends, beginning March 7.  Those who are interested in auditioning and cannot attend may call The Playhouse, 804-435-3776, and leave a message.

“‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’ brings Becky Nunn back to The Players in a directorial role,” said Rawls. “The comedy is a sequel to Boeing Boeing, which she directed for The Players in 2014.”

A Kilmarnock native, Nunn has a bachelor’s degree in dramatic arts and speech from Mary Washington College and the University of Virginia.  She studied directing under Marc Connelly and Paul Green, head of outdoor drama in the United States. She has acted with the Helen Hayes Repertory Theater in New York, has directed more than 30 plays and has acted in some 50 plays, from New York to Florida. In the 1960s, Nunn both acted and directed in Northern Neck Theatre Guild productions.
