Volunteering with squad ‘very satisfying’ experience

Volunteering with the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad is “very satisfying,” said MCVRS Captain Ole Albert, who has served with the squad for more than 12 years.

“To be able to be in contact and see the smiles from people you have helped is so rewarding,” said Albert, who has also served abroad as a missions pastor.

For younger people or those thinking of a career change, volunteering with the MCVRS is a great place to start, he said. The squad will provide education, with the agreement the student volunteers for at least two years, he explained.

With the training and experience gained as a volunteer a person can go on to a career in nursing or health care, and could become a paid EMT in Middlesex.
