Middlesex wrestlers awarded

The Middlesex High School (MHS) wrestling team finished fifth in the Cavalier Clash at Caroline High School on Dec. 7. The Chargers won the team sportsmanship award at the meet. The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger wrestling team opened its regular 2024-2025 season with a fifth place team finish at the Cavalier Clash at Caroline High School on Saturday, Dec. 7, and came away with the sportsmanship team plaque.

The Chargers had three wrestlers place in their weight classes as Joseph Brandon finished first, 132-pound weight class; Zach Dean, second, 285-pound weight class; and Tucker Campbell, third, 157-pound weight class.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Chargers competed in a tri-meet on the Eastern Shore of Virginia against Northampton and Rappahannock high schools. MHS finished second as the Chargers beat Rappahannock of Warsaw, 54-24, and lost to the Northampton Yellow Jackets, 48-30.

The Chargers competed in the Titan Classic Invitational meet on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Cosby High School and on Saturday, Dec. 21, the Chargers will compete in the Lancaster Duals at Lancaster High School.

After the first of the year and winter break, MHS will compete in the Mathews Invitational on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 at Mathews High School.
