As of early this week, there were still a few Jackson Creek Christmas Cruise tickets available at Hurd’s True Value Hardware in Deltaville for the 4:30, and 7:30 p.m. cruise time slots. Tickets are $10 each for all seats.

“Usually we have one or two no shows so you may be able to get on the cruise of your choice,” said cruise organizer Raynell Smith.

Doors will open on Dec. 13 at the DCA center at 4 p.m. with free cookies and apple cider. There will be Christmas carols playing and trains running for the party. Rumor has it that dear “Ole Saint Nick” may pay a visit to sample the cookies.

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your cruise is scheduled to leave. You must pick up a boarding pass at the DCA center for the hay wagon ride and the boat. The building will close after the last cruise goers return. For the 7:30 p.m. cruise, plan to have your cider and cookies before the cruise departs as clean-up will start at 8 p.m.

This year the cookie contest will be the “people’s choice” with the confections receiving the four highest number of votes being awarded $100, $50, $30, and $20 respectively.
