The Voices of Worship Praise Team of Make-A-Way and Deliverance Full Gospel Baptist Church, located at 100 Flats Road in Urbanna, will host its annual Christmas sing-along program on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. The Christmas program will also feature Zion Branch Baptist Church Choir and The Zion Popular Praise Dancers.

Grafton Baptist Church in Hartfield will host Christmas in Song, featuring the Community Men of Christ. The choir will consist of various men from the community who have come together to celebrate Christ and His love for all.

“Come and celebrate the Lord with us on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m.,” a news release for the event read. “If there are any men that would like to join us, please contact Neil Wake at 804-347-4794.

Practice to prepare for the event is Friday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m.


All Saints Anglican Church’s Christmas by Candlelight Celtic Music Program is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at 49 New St. in Saluda. The program offers a magical evening of traditional tunes, stories, lullabies for Christmas babies, and Christmas joy for all.

Calvary Baptist Church in Christchurch will have a Christmas Candlelight Service on Sunday, Dec, 1, at 5 p.m. The guest singers will be the Gresham Brothers and Sisters from West Point.


Congregants from Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road in Hartfield welcome everyone this Sunday at 9:15 a.m. for coffee fellowship in the LUMC Fellowship Hall.

Adult Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship will be in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. This Sunday they invite everyone to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Cryer Center in Harmony Village.

The community is invited to join them each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 4 p.m.

Harmony Grove Baptist Church (HGBC) will welcome Santa and friends to a free breakfast of pancakes, sausage with a beverage on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

HGBC is located at 7722 General Puller Highway in Harmony Village near Topping. In order to get an accurate number of attendees, call 804-758-5154 Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Come and enjoy a free breakfast, community fel-lowship and some holiday fun to support the children in our area.

A photo opportunity with Santa will be available during the breakfast.

During November through the first week of December, HGBC will also take up a monetary collection for the teenage boys and girls of Middlesex County. So often, teens are overlooked during this season of giving or it’s difficult to provide what teens like so monetary gifts are needed. Deltaville’s Philippi Christian Church Dis-ciple Women group is conducting a fundraiser to benefit The Avalon Center, located in Williamsburg. The center supports victims and survivors of domestic violence in the Greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities.

The group is collecting gently worn shoes, of any type (even flip flops), men’s, women’s, and children’s. If you have outgrown or are tired of any shoes in your closet, please consider donating them to Philippi, 17276 General Puller Highway, Deltaville.
