The visiting Middlesex Lady Charger volleyball team defeated the Region 1B champions Altavista 3-1 on Saturday, Nov. 16 in the quarter finals of the Class 1 State Tournament.
Middlesex won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-18. Altavista took the third set 25-16. Middlesex won the third set 25-12 to take the match.
Middlesex will play the Region 1A champs, Rappahannock in Warsaw on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m.
Middlesex has defeated Rappahannock twice in the regular season but lost to Rappahannock in the Region 1A Tournament final on Nov. 12. Middlesex won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-15. Rappahannock rallied winning the rest 25-18, 30-28 and 15-8.
Middlesex is 26-3 while Rappahannock is 19-10.
