Nancy Smith Brooks, 77, of Laneview, formerly of King and Queen County, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. “Pudden” Brooks Jr.
She is survived by five daughters, Deborah Brooks, Janice Taylor (Troy), Sandra Garner, Pamela Brooks, Rebecca Creech (Jacob); nine grandchildren, D.J., Jessie, Cory, Courtney, Michaela, Caleb, Micheal, Robbie, Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Duane, Maverick, Carson, Landry, Weston, Lakelynn; four siblings, Sue Dameron, William Smith, Herbert Smith, and Nora Richardson (Billy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Nancy was well known for her concern and care for others and to keep up with everyone by phone. She cherished her family and friends. She loved to read and listen to old country music, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, Nov. 15 at B.W. White Funeral Home, on 360 in Aylett. The family will also receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon, with the service beginning at noon, Saturday, Nov. 16 at Providence United Methodist Church, 3844 Poor House Lane, Bruington. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department., P.O. Box 428, Saluda, VA 23149.
