A Veterans Day celebration and barbecue luncheon to honor local U.S. Armed Forces retirees and active duty personnel will be conducted in Urbanna Saturday, Nov. 9. A car show with 20-30 classic vehicles will also be part of the event.
The activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Urbanna Baptist Church, 121 Watling St. The Memory Lane Car Club will have its cars on display in the church parking lots beginning at 10 a.m. Parking for guests will be along the curb on nearby streets.
A brief ceremony recognizing all veterans will begin at noon on the church lawn. The speaker is Middlesex County Deputy Chris Easter, a retired Sergeant Major in the U.S. Marine Corps. Veterans from all branches of the military are invited. Uniforms are welcomed.
