The Middlesex High School Charger football team defeated the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers, 32-14, Thursday, Oct. 31, in Saluda and is now undefeated in district play.

The Chargers were paced Thursday by halfback JaQuan Griffin, who scored two touchdowns and has now registered 30 TDs over the 2024 season — a MHS school record. J. Griffin had already broken the MHS single game touchdown record with eight in a game earlier this season.

Coming up

The Chargers final regular season game was previously scheduled for this Friday, Nov. 8, at the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex, when Middlesex was expected to take on the Mathews Blue Devils in a Tidewater District matchup. This year, it had just enough, but due to recent injuries it now lacks enough players to field a team and MHS announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that the Middlesex-Mathews game was canceled.
