Anne Norwood Usry, 67, born in Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31 at her home in Hartfield.
Anne was a talented dancer, teacher of children and devoted wife. She loved people and never met a stranger. She traveled the East Coast with her brother’s band, sailed the Chesapeake Bay with her husband of 30 years, was an avid member of the YMCA before the pandemic, and the ringleader of The Lunch Bunch, a six-pack of ladies who met monthly, and livened up the eateries in Deltaville. She lit up a room. She was a feisty little dickens and left us way too early. Those who met Anne will never forget her smile and loving way.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Smiley (Burt); their children, Althea and John Smiley; her husband, W. Mead Usry; his daughters, Lora, Kimberly and Christine; and all those who knew and loved her before the Lord took another angel home.
