Middlesex County Public Schools will conduct an important drug awareness presentation, Silent No More, for students in grades seven through 12 on Monday, Nov. 4, during the school day.
This impactful program is designed to educate students about the dangers of opioids and other harmful drugs while highlighting current drug trends.
Silent No More features emotional testimonials from families affected by overdose, clips from the documentary Chasing the Dragon, and expert insights from a DEA agent on fentanyl and counterfeit drugs. The event also includes presentations from a federal prosecutor and Dr. Denise Lester, an addiction medicine specialist, along with a recovery speaker who will share their personal story of overcoming substance use disorder.
A separate evening presentation for parents, guardians, and community members will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Locust Hill’s St. Clare Walker Middle School’s auditorium on Monday, Nov. 4. This event is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and promote prevention in the fight against the opioid crisis. Food will be served at 6 p.m. if you register for the event and select a sandwich.
