Does some hot chocolate and homemade cookies sound good? Want to go trick or treating before Halloween weekend? Just want to park the car and get treats from about 20-plus different decorated vehicles?

If so, just plan to dress up and come to Harmony Grove Baptist Church with your treat bag for its Trunk or Treat event. The annual free candy giveaway is one of the larger such events in the area and typically attracts hundreds of children. This year, it is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26..

Church members will dress up in costumes, decorate their vehicles with Halloween decorations and hand out free treats.

“We welcome everyone to come in your Halloween costume and park in the parking lot on the west side of the church (near the playground) as the Trunk or Treat vehicles will be in the parking lot at the stoplight,” said a spokesman for the event.

Harmony Grove is located at 7722 General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Harmony Village near Topping at the intersection with Grey’s Point Road (Route 3).
