Harmony Grove Baptist Church’s community health fair is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. It will feature free health screenings, children’s activities, face painting, Hartfield firefighters, a new approach to wellness, On the Flip Side food truck and Shore Bites food truck.
There will also be reps on hand from the Cryer Center, Middle Peninsula Behavioral Health, Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Foundry Christian Youth Center, Virginia Department of Health and Middlesex Family YMCA.

Grafton Baptist Church will celebrate its 157th church anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 20, during the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Kevin Smith, pastor of Wayland Baptist Church, Mathews, will bring the anniversary message. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock Church, 366 James Wharf Road, White Stone, is presenting its Kids Fall and Halloween Festival 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. It will include bobbing for apples, a cake walk, games such as pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern, toss the bean bag, barrel train rides and a bounce house. There will be a special area for toddlers and young children in the scarecrow patch, where they can play with small scarecrows, a sand box and a small ball pit, plus River Pal Puppets.

Rehearsals for the Chesapeake Chorale’s December concerts are scheduled for each Monday, 7-9 p.m., through November in preparation for the Christmas concerts, including at St. Clare Walker Middle School on Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.
No audition is required to join this mixed-voice community group, organized in 1996, and dedicated to promoting choral music, particularly in area schools. All proceeds from the concerts are donated back to school music programs.

An Adult Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah is beginning at Catholic Church of the Visitation in Topping. Organizers are planning a 12-lesson study that they hope to complete before Thanksgiving. They will use the Little Rock Scripture Study booklets as they have done with their recent studies.

Catholic Church of the Visitation’s Adult Faith Formation and Liturgy and Worship ministries invite fellow parishioners to gather for morning prayer in the day chapel on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. These will be short and structured prayer services and will include scripture readings.

Catholic Church of the Visitation Knights of Columbus (KOC) is a not-for-profit organization with principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Donations it receives support Gloucester, Mathews, Northern Neck and Middlesex free health clinics, Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities, Veterans Services Golf Tournament, Families in Need, Hands Across Middlesex and Mathews and the Father John Boddie Scholarship Fund.
