Genevieve B. Jones departed this life and transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.
She was the only child born on Feb. 25, 1933 to her adoring parents, Dellie and Delma Wilson.
Ginny, as she was known, took great pleasure in her home and was a lifelong homemaker. She was known for her love of music, Elvis, family, dancing, her kindness and gentle personality. She lived a life worthy of her place in the Church Triumphant, where she now resides and was a shining example of a life well lived.
Ginny was a longstanding and faithful member of Philippi Christian Church until her health failed.
She was also a member of the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary, based in Deltaville.
Ginny leaves behind her loving and devoted son, Wayne Hudgins, and his wife Patricia Prince, along with an extended group of family and friends of which she was very fond.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Zoar Baptist Church Cemetary on Ballpark Road in Deltaville. A reception will follow in the social hall of Philippi Christian Church.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to the Lower Middlesex Fire Department, the rescue squad auxiliary or Philippi Christian Church.
