Paul William Doss Jr., 80, of Gloucester, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Wytheville and was the son of the late Paul W. and Amanda L. Doss.
He retired from the Fairfax Fire Department as a firefighter serving from 1969-1983. He also worked in security at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Senior Group of the Piankatank River Golf Club.
He was preceded n death by his wife, Shirley A. Doss; sister, Betty Ogle; and brothers, James Doss and Randy Doss.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy Paul Doss (Jennifer) and James William Doss, (Penny); grandchildren, James Doss Jr., Zachary Doss, and Brittany Graham; and great -grandchildren, Audrey, Finnley, Lincoln, Lilly, and Eddie.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 2-3 p.m. with a graveside service being conducted at 3:30 p.m. at Bellamy Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Riverside Waster Reed Hospice, 7358 Main St., Gloucester, VA 23061. Following the service there will be a celebration of life at the Piankatank River Golf Club, 6198 Stormont Road, Hartfield.
