Middlesex High School’s golf team hosted a tri-match last week, defeating King William 175-192, but losing to Northumberland 175-173 in the regular season finale at Hartfield’s Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC). Nielson McMinn shot 38 and Caleb Jackson shot 45. Abel Crader and Henry Fleet both shot 46.
On Monday, Sept. 23, at PRGC, Middlesex won the Tidewater District Tournament with a 338 for 18-holes. King William finished runner up with a score of 385.
The Regional Tournament is Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Golden Eagle Golf Course in Irvington. The top two teams and the top three individuals not on those two teams will advance to the state tournament at Great Oaks Country Club in Floyd.
