MHS volleyball squad downs three opponents; to host Mathews today

The Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team improved to 5-0 with victories over King William, Lancaster, and King and Queen Central.

On Sept. 10 against visiting King William, the Lady Chargers rebounded from a 25-17 loss in the first set and won the next two sets 25-16 and 25-12. The Lady Cavaliers won set four 25-19 forcing a fifth set to decide the match. The Lady Chargers stepped up for a 15-13 win over the AA school.

On Monday, Sept. 16, visiting Middlesex defeated Lancaster in three sets 25-10, 25-20 and 25-18.

On Sept. 17, the Lady Chargers defeated host King and Queen.

The JV and varsity Lady Chargers have three home matches coming up. They host Mathews tonight, Thursday, Sept. 19; host Lancaster on Monday, Sept. 23; and host West Point on Thursday, Sept. 26. The JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m.
The varsity only travels to Charles City on Sept. 24 for a 6 p.m. match.
