Ernest Junior Jones’ celebration of life is planned for Saturday, Sept. 21 at his home, 1026 Bob’s Hole Road, Topping. Please dress casual and bring a lawn chair if you have one. This is a gathering of family and friends in his honor.
Ernest was born on July 4, 1937 in Syringa. He passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Ernest was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His life can be defined by his love and dedication to his family, his work as a heavy equipment operator and entrepreneur, and his love for his family’s home place.
Ernest is survived by his cherished wife of 66 years, Emma Beverley Jones; and their seven children, Carol Dudley, Meridith Jones (Teresa), Jacquelyn Jones, Terresa Perry (Jeffrey), Gary Jones (Millicent), Derek Jones (Angela), and Renee Jones. His love and pride for his children was evident in every aspect of his life, and through them he leaves behind a legacy of wisdom and strength.
Ernest is also survived by his brother, Wyatt Jones (Louise); as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Family meant the world to him, and he treasured the moments spent with them.
Ernest will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His quiet spirit, love, and the countless memories he created will remain in our hearts forever.
Ernest attended and accepted Christ into his life at Grafton Baptist Church in Middlesex County. Ernest now rests with the loved ones that passed before him.
