Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) has a new priest in charge.
The Rev. Randi Hicks Rowe began her tenure on Sept. 1. She is a native Virginian who grew up in Richmond. Her husband, Thomas K. Rowe Jr., is also a Richmond native who worked as a reporter and editor on the Middle Peninsula for about 20 years.
The Rev. Rowe is a graduate of the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria and is currently pursuing a doctorate in congregational development at Bexley-Seabury Seminary in Chicago. She was ordained a priest in Alexandria on Aug. 13, 2016, and led congregations in Niagara County, N.Y., before returning to Virginia to serve at Christ Church.
“I am really excited to be at Christ Church, which has a long history of ministry to and with the community,” said Rowe. “Parishioners are welcoming and friendly, and I look forward to a bright future with them.”
Rowe has fond memories of Middlesex County, having visited her uncle’s cabin in Deltaville as a child on summer weekends. She has a stepdaughter, son-in-law and nine-month-old grandson in Charlottesville, a sister-in-law in Northumberland County, and several cousins who still live in Greater Richmond.
