Ford Model A Club will visit Middlesex Museum on Sept. 21

The Colonial Virginia Ford Model A Club members love cars — the Model A Ford to be exact. It was the successor to the venerable Model T Ford (1907-1927) that made cars affordable to the average citizen in the early parts of the last century.

When it came time to replace the Model T, Henry Ford was convinced to build the Model A. The Model A was manufactured from 1928-1931 and 4.8 million cars were sold, making it the best-selling car of its day. There are still about 250,000 Ford Model As on the road today.

The purpose of the Colonial Virginia Model A Ford Club is to restore, promote and preserve Model A Fords and to serve as a medium of exchange of ideas, information and parts and to further attract prestige and respect within the community with family-oriented activities and civic and community involvement.

The Middlesex County Museum will be open on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to host the 10-plus cars that will be part of their driving tour of the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Light refreshments will also be served. This free event is a great opportunity for everyone to experience American history in a fun format.
