Christchurch School will host the annual Jason Soucek ‘92 Memorial Soccer Tournament this year on Sept. 6 and 7.
The tournament is presented annually in memory of Christchurch School (CCS) graduate and Middlesex County resident Jason Carpenter Soucek, CCS Class of 1992, son of Saluda couple Archie Soucek (CCS Class of 1961) and Claudia Soucek. Jason Soucek died in 1996, while a student at Roanoke College. At ac, Jason was a standout soccer, basketball and lacrosse player, earning “Best All-Around Athlete” honors in 1992.
Teams competing are Christchurch, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School (Alexandria), Steward School (Richmond), and St. Mary’s Ryken (Leonardtown, Md.).
The action opens at 3 p.m. on Friday with Christchurch vs. St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes. The next game is at 5 p.m. with Steward School vs. St. Mary’s Ryken.
Tournament play continues on Saturday with the consolation round at 11 a.m. and the championship round at 2 p.m.
