The Middlesex High School golf team is 3-0 after defeating Lancaster and Rappahannock of Warsaw.
On Monday, Middlesex defeated Rappahannock 164-169 at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock. Nielson McMinn led the Chargers with a 36, while Kai Evans shot 41, Henry Fleet shot 43, and Abel Crader shot 44.
On Aug. 21, the Chargers posted a convincing 175-201 win against Lancaster at the Golden Eagle Golf Course in Irvington. Charger Nielson McMinn shot 40 and Abel Crader shot 43. MHS’s Kai Evans and Henry Fleet each shot 46.
Charger Coach David Lutz predicted Lancaster and Northumberland would be among the Chargers’ top competition this season. “It was a good win to help us get an idea of where we may stack up in the region,” Lutz said. “We still have work to do before we are playing our best, but we are well on the way!”
The Chargers hosted Northumberland on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Hartfield’s Piankatank River Golf Course (PRGC).
On Sept. 3, the Chargers host Mathews at PRGC. Matches begin at 4 p.m.
