Leroy Millard “LM” Carlton Jr., 92, of Urbanna passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, after a short illness.
LM was preceded in death by his wife, Marta; his mother, Oleathia Heath Carlton; his father, Leroy Millard Carlton Sr.; and a brother, Albert Heath “Colonel” Carlton.
He is survived by many cousins.
LM was a graduate of Christchurch School and attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
He served his country in the United States Army.
LM retired from the Washington, D.C. area as a computer programmer to his childhood home in Urbanna. He loved to
sit on his front porch overlooking Heath’s Cove and talk about family history, automobiles and airplanes.
A service to celebrate LM’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at Urbanna Baptist Church, 121 Watling St.,
Urbanna, VA 23175. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Urbanna Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Urbanna, VA 23175.
Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda is assisting the family.
