A 74-year-old pedestrian remained hospitalized as of Monday in serious but stable condition after he was struck by a pickup truck on Thursday, Aug. 15, about 10:05 a.m. in Deltaville, reported Sgt. J. Dudley of the Gloucester Office of the Virginia State Police.
According to authorities, Charles Short of Deltaville was walking from Lover’s Lane attempting to cross General Puller Highway (Route 33) near Hurd’s True Value Hardware store when he was struck by a Chevy pickup truck driven by Graham White of Deltaville, who was traveling east on Route 33. No charges have been placed at this time, said Sgt. Dudley.
Short was airlifted to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center in Richmond.
