Gari B. Sullivan, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, in Hartfield.
Gari is survived by his wife, Susan Sullivan; daughter, Sidney Sullivan Barnes (George); son, Christopher Sullivan; and his grandson, Nicholas Garnett (Ashley).
Gari was born in Fredericksburg on Feb. 6, 1938. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sidney and Margaret Sullivan.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Richmond Professional Institute (RPI); now known as Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), in Business.
Most of his working life was in banking. During his career he was president of two small banks, Bank of Goochland and Bank of Middlesex. He retired after 20 years of service from Citizens and Farmers Bank.
He belonged to Middlesex County Rotary Club, Middlesex County Lions Club and was a member of the Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) for 35 years.
The family asks for privacy at this time. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Gari requested donations be sent to the Christ Church Parish Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 476, Saluda, VA 23149.
