Robert Christian Haywood, 39, of Susan, Va., passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Chippenham Hospital.
Robert was born Dec. 18, 1984 to Teresa H. Gray and Carlton R. Haywood.
He was a commercial waterman who loved working in the waters of Mathews County. He was also a member of Lower Society Car Club.
He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Selena A. Gray and Sharon L. Haywood; grandfathers, John B. Gray and Ralph D. Haywood.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa H. Gray and companion, James A. Brown; father, Carlton R. Haywood; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews. A private graveside service is planned for Friday, Aug. 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, VA 23076.
