Twenty-one teams helped celebrate Piankatank River Golf Club’s 28th year by playing in its anniversary celebration tournament on July 14. Two-person teams competed in 18 holes of captain’s choice.
Winners include:
- First flight — first, Peyton Lambert and Pierce Lambert (59); second, Derek Poole and Kyle Rowe (59); and third, Chris Hurst and Mike Brown (60).
- Second flight — first, Jeremy Collier and Mark Baker (67); second, Matthew Harris and Bryce Self (68); and third, Heath Bray and Jerry Duke (69).
- Third flight — first, Drew Hooper and Daniel Anderson (74); second, Victoria Hitch and Jack Sherry (79); and third, Curtis Hillard and Mitch Hillard (80).
- Closest to the pin — Hole #17, Heath Bray; and Hole #14, Victoria Hitch.
A highlight of the day was a hole-in-one made by Will George on hole #5 using an eight iron for 125 yards. It was witnessed by Drew Hooper, Daniel Anderson and Martin Brent.
