Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR) Church in White Stone recently announced its 2024 Servetus Endowment Scholarships for area public high schools, one per county.
The four recipients include:
- Elizabeth Cox of Middlesex County enrolled at James Madison University to study art and add to her skills as a graphic designer.
- Sear’Tis Turner of Lancaster County enrolled in Christopher Newport University to study computer science.
- Sarah Moughon of Mathews County enrolled in Elon University to study finance and become a finance and investment consultant.
- Caroline Neale of Northumberland County enrolled at James Madison University to become a nurse practitioner.
A May 25 luncheon was conducted in their honor at the Tides Inn. Each student received a $4,000 scholarship for their first year.
The UUFR congregation meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at the screwpile lighthouse-style church at 366 James Wharf Road, White Stone.
