Deltas have rare Friday night home game this week, as well as post-game fireworks Saturday

A pair of huge six- and seven-run innings erased a five-run deficit, as the Deltaville Deltas came from behind to defeat the Richmond Brewers on Saturday night at Deltaville Ballpark.

The Deltas took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, plating a pair of runs on RBIs by Jacob Houston and Kevin Cole. However, the Brewers manufactured a run in the second, and in the third inning plated six runs on a combination of hits, errors, and hit batsmen.

The Deltas get a break from road games this week, but get to host back-to-back home games this weekend.

A rare Friday night home game will take place at Deltaville Ballpark, as the Deltas take on the Richmond Avalanche at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, it’s a 6 p.m. start as part of the Deltaville Community Association’s Independence Day weekend activities.

The Deltas will take on the Chesapeake Sharks. After the game, fireworks will light up the night sky over the ballpark.
