On June 11, the Rotary Club of Middlesex County was pleased to recognize the work of eight local nonprofit organizations by awarding grants for a total value of $19,000. These local organizations, through their charitable actions, embody the motto of Rotary – “Service Above Self.” Grants were awarded to Middlesex County NAACP for the “Back to School Bash,” scheduled for Aug. 10; the Colonial Seaport Foundation for purchase of a life raft for sloop Luna; to Middlesex County Public Library for its robotics program; to Hands Across Middlesex for the Cryer Center; to the Middlesex Family YMCA for youth programs; to The Foundry for youth programs; to the Middlesex County Woman’s Club for community support and to Middlesex Habitat for Humanity for the construction of affordable housing.
