Interfaith services can help neighbors in need

Most folks take for granted that they have easy access and egress to nice dry homes, but some neighbors do not take this luxury for granted.

Recently, Interfaith Services, Ramp and Repair Division remedied this situation for one neighbor in the area by building a new landing with steps and handrails that are ADA compliant at no cost to the homeowner.

This is what Interfaith does in order to further its mission of “Spreading God’s Love through Service,” said Division Leader David Lacy.

Every 12½ days the Ramp & Repair Division accomplishes its mission by constructing and repairing ramps, steps, floors and other projects so neighbors will have safe and easy access to their homes, said Lacy. This is done at no cost to the homeowners who qualify due to support from many individuals, businesses, foundations, churches and civic organizations.

Interfaith also provides free roof replacement to those who qualify as a leaking roof will quickly lead to major structural damage, he said.

Interfaith also provides free household items at 1086 Harris Road, Kilmarnock, where volunteers are needed to help neighbors with their selections.
