The Deltaville Deltas prevailed in a pair of road games last week, defeating the Richmond Brewers 10-6 and the Richmond Misfits 10-0. Playing a third game in five days, they battled the defending league champions, Richmond El Heaters, to a complete game tie at home on Saturday night, with the final score of 6-6.
The Deltas move their season record to 5-1-1 on the season, with a 4-1-1 mark in league play. They sit in third place in the Richmond NABA league standings.
This week, the Deltas travel back to Highland Springs for a Wednesday night road matchup against the Richmond Blues. On Saturday, the Deltas return home as they will look to avenge their only loss of the season. The Tappahannock Tides will be back in town, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Deltas 10, Brewers 6
Eleven Deltas batters combined to score or drive in runs, while a trifecta of pitchers held on to the lead, as Deltaville defeated the Richmond Brewers last Tuesday night.
Deltas 10, Misfits 0
Deltas pitchers Jay Moore, Justin Hale and Eli Pittman combined to throw a shutout, and Colton Smith launched a three-run home run, as the Deltas rolled to a decisive 10-0 victory on Thursday night in Varina.
Deltas 6, Heaters 6
In a back and forth battle that saw multiple lead changes, the Deltas and El Heaters were eventually defeated by the clock. A league-wide three-hour regular season time limit expired after the ninth inning, and the final score was locked at a 6-6 tie.
