Urbanna Baptist Church invites all campers, as well as community members and visitors, to this Sunday’s worship service at Bethpage Camp-Resort. Come join together for fellowship, worship and music at Bethpage’s amphitheater at 9 a.m. Dress is casual. If there is bad weather, the service will move to Bethpage’s rally center.

Pastor Greg Faulkner of Middlesex County will be speaking this Sunday. Pastor Faulkner served on the staff at Central Church in Charlotte, N.C. for 12 years and was involved in the jail/prison ministry there. He was ordained in 2009.

Since living in Middlesex County, Faulkner fills in as minister for various county churches when they are in need. The music this Sunday will be provided by Jubal, a local, music worship band.

Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, invites everyone to join them for Breakfast with Friends and its Casual Sunday worship service this Sunday.

They will gather in LUMC’s fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast at 9:45 a.m. They’ll remain in the hall for their casual 10:30 a.m. worship service. Bring a dish! Bring a friend!
Everyone is invited to join them each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 5 p.m.

The Christ Church Trash and Treasure Sale is set for 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 8, at Christ Church Parish Fellowship Hall, 56 Christchurch Lane, Christchurch.

Donated items for sale in past years have included holiday and craft supplies, pictures, frames, antiques and collectibles, furniture, kitchen and other household items, home décor, tools, electronics, office supplies and more.

All proceeds benefit nonprofit organizations in the community.

The Ushers Ministry of Union Shiloh Baptist Church in Jamaica will celebrate its anniversary on Sunday, June 9, at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and share in this service with them.

Their guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Sylvia M. Corbin, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church of Saint Stephens Church. The Youth Choir and Ushers will accompany Rev. Dr. Corbin.

Zion Branch Baptist Church, Saluda, will celebrate its church anniversary on Sunday, June 9, beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Steven Burrell of Gleaning Baptist Church, Gloucester, will be the guest speaker, along with his choir and congregation.


Zoar Baptist Church has begun its summer schedule. Join them for “beach worship” at 8:30 a.m. near Stingray Point each Sunday through Labor Day (weather permitting). A morning worship service in the church sanctuary is also offered at 10:30 a.m. Children’s Church meets in the pavilion at the beach property at 8:30 a.m. throughout the summer. Children’s activities during the 10:30 a.m. worship service will resume in September.

Adult Sunday school classes will begin a study of the book of Acts on June 2. Several classes will remain near Stingray Point after beach worship for Sunday school, and others will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m.
