Tyler Wenrich of Louisa County pleaded guilty to having two 9 mm bullets in his backpack when he was trying to board a cruise ship in Turks and Caicos Islands. He pleaded guilty and was free on bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 28.
Wenrich, 31, is vice president of operations with Emergency Services Solutions Inc. (ESS), which provides paid EMTs for Middlesex County. ESS is based in Powhatan.
He is one of the Americans recently arrested in the Turks and Caicos Islands, which bans possession of guns and ammunition.
Last week the Sentinel contacted ESS President L. Blanton Marchese, who commented via email, “He remains a valued member of our leadership team.”
Marchese declined to comment further until the court takes action as expected on May 28.
The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory, but are self governing. It’s a group of 40 islands south of the Bahamas.
