Clarksbury Church in Hardyville will conduct a bake sale on Saturday, May 25, from 8-10 a.m.

There will be homemade bread, pies, cakes, and cookies for sale. All proceeds will go to local missions.

Williamsburg Theological Seminary’s commencement is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Immanuel Baptist Church at 317 Town Bridge Road near Saluda.

The Rev. Dr. John C. Wright Jr., Immanuel’s pastor, is the seminary’s founder and president.

Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, welcomes all at its Sunday worship service at 10:30 a.m. This Sunday they will commemorate Memorial Day and they will also offer communion.

Everyone is invited to join LUMC each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 5 p.m.

Zion Hill Baptist Church, 10256 Indian Road, Gloucester, will have in-person worship service on Sunday, May 26, at 11 a.m. Pastor Eugene Comithier II will preach and his Male Chorus will sing.

All Middlesex County community residents, visitors and campers of Bethpage Camp-Resort are invited to the Sunday worship service on May 26. The time to gather is 9 a.m. at the campground amphitheater. In case of dismal weather, service will be conducted in the Bethpage Rally Center. Dress is casual.

The Rev. Paul Pleasants, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will address the gathering. Jubal, a Middlesex County worship band, will provide the music. Bethpage is located at 4685 Old Virginia St., just outside of Urbanna.

Make-A-Way and Deliverance Full Gospel Baptist Church will host its 25th church anniversary celebration on Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. The afternoon guest pastor ministering God’s Word will be Bishop Carlton Johnson and his congregation from Zion Branch Baptist Church in Saluda.


The Foundry is a new youth center for middle and high school students located at 7962 General Puller Highway, Unit 603, in Topping.

Every Wednesday night the Community Youth Group meets in the fellowship hall of Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville from 6-8 p.m. Group members are served dinner, have game time and study verses in the Bible after watching a video. All sixth through 12th grade students are welcome to join the group. They currently have 20 to 30 teens participating.
