In just over a week, the recently completed Marshall Community Pool in Urbanna’s Taber Park will open with a formal ceremony set for Saturday, May 25, at 11:30 a.m.
The event caps years of effort by town officials with help of community members who donated more than $220,000 to help build the pool that cost more than $1.2 million.
A wall is being erected at the pool to recognize donors and there is still time to donate, said Urbanna Town Councilor Sandra Sturgill, who can be reached at sansturgill@gmail.com. Donations are being accepted by Urbanna Beautification Inc.
